Hello all, my name is Riittakerttu Kaltiala-Heino, and I am looking for a more humane and therapeutic alternatives to seclusion than an empty white room. I would like to discuss this point with units that have better solutions. In our adolescent forensic unit, our policy is to avoid seclusion and restraint and manage aggression in more therapeutic and constructive ways, but it seems unavoidable that a seclusion room is sometimes needed. Please contact me if your unit has adopted new solutions! I would like to exchange ideas, and perhaps visit places with better alternatives if feasible.
